Nzoner's Game Room>The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

the stock pipes are decent. definitely louder than my stock Vstar 650 pipes....which you could hardly hear at all. But the 72s pipes are certainly tame.

I plan on putting pipes on it over the winter; and I'll keep the baffles in.
After that the high flow air filter + ECM reset/fuel mapping and Dyno.

yeah, I hear you can install either Pipes, OR high flow AC w/out messing with the fuel mapping.
There are lots of guys that put both on w/out the remapping and/or Dyno; I've heard doing so really suck away the power. And, it'll run lean.

screw that. I want the thing to sound like it's supposed to and run like it's supposed to. Though I hear the ECM reset/remap is a tad $$. plus the $ of a dyno. But, it'll be worth it. :-)

If you're gonna ride it, it should ride how you want. Out here they run them loud as possible so the asshole car drivers know they're coming.

hell yeah.
I'm surprised at how inexpensive a lot of mods are (sans pipes etc).
Over the winter, I plan on relocating the ignition and coil to the left side (most likely will need to remove the horn. which, BTW is louder than my cars). It'll free up a lot of area in front of the front cylinder.

and 1.5" - 2" tank lift / hide some of the wires.
