I rather enjoy it. But we are talking about Self being a cheat.

It's funny how things come full circle. UCLA paid its players in the '60s via a wealthy booster to win multiple championships. Athletes were given money, cars, jobs where they didn't work and special privileges. This has gone for decades. SMU got the death penalty and the NCAA finally figured out that was bad because they didn't do anything others weren't doing.

Fast forward to today. We have NIL that brings paying players into the open. No prior violations compare to aggregious payments to players that are deemed to be stars.

Bill Self was accused of being in on a phone call about a recruit that was controlled by the Adidas empire.

Isn't the University of Miami QB recruit getting $9.5 million via NIL.

Seems about right.

SMU has decided to distribute NIL money evenly.

Football and basketball players on scholarship will get $33,000 per year along with their free education, room and board.

Seems about right.

Meh. Don't get why Self and KU even gave him that.

wow.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who is (was) a charger fan. In 2000, the dolts went 1-15....with the one win being against the chiefs.

He was so happy......quoting "if we only win 1 game each year, as long as it's against the chiefs!".

yeah, ok.........but you're 1 and freakin' 15!!! :-)

And that was against an 80 year old Warren Moon... not exactly a proud "and I was there!" moment. :-)

Hell, at least when the Chiefs beat the Packers in 2011 despite the awful start to the season, you could hang your hat on it being the Packers' only loss that year.... not beating some elderly backup QB for your only win of the season.

I mean you probably didn't hear about it because I went under the name of Mike Honcho. But I just wanted you to know that. If you can hear me, if it got into your brain somehow. That I spread my buttcheeks as Mike Honcho.

With the threat that the NCAA might sanction KU and not allow them in the tournament, the NCAA was 'punishing' KU by hurting recruitment. I figured that was a big reason the NCAA wasn't finishing things.

Makes it all the more amusing that KU won a title with this recruitment threat hanging over their head.

Because it will help with the lawsuit they will file if the NCAA does too much
