One of the players I’m most looking forward to observing during the padded practices is Saunders, the third-year defensive tackle who is known for his freakish athleticism. Listed at 6-foot and 324 pounds, Saunders has been one of the quickest defensive linemen in camp.
He started camp strong, displaying his quickness and strength to blow by left guard Nick Allegretti, a starter for most of last season, and pressure backup quarterback Chad Henne. Saunders had several repetitions Monday in which he generated pressure. Man I bet Clyde is so hyped right now. He’s going to get that Priest Holmes treatment where more times than not there’s a hole big enough for a truck to drive through and he’s just gonna smile as he runs downfield without being touched for at least 5 yards.
