We got to watch the 68 World Series in grade school I guess because the Cards were playing. KC was a year away from a baseball team and even then I hated the Cards was rooting for Tigers.

It took a minute for the name to click for me. But when I saw he was with the Tigers in the late 60's I realized, oh, he was the catcher. Not the biggest name on that team by any means but that was a time when I was actually following baseball as my only sport. I was 8 and lived in Chicago with a mother who was a Cubs fan. Talk about hating the Cards!!!

I started watching sports in 1970 at 7.

Chiefs Vikings first thing I watched and well the rest is history. :-)

I think i remember this guy from an early episode of Magnum. It was a comedy episode that had Frankie Five Angels from The Godfather 2 in it.
