You are being too forgiving. Lying fake media like MSNBC?CNN should always be assumed to be lying or misdirecting. We know that they have a clear agenda. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt anymore. We all have our biases, true, but there's a huge difference in trying to be partial and straight out shilling.

I have worked in the broadcast news media for the last 19 years. The biggest transition I have seen is the shift to focusing on ad revenue and catering to just their audience base. The attitude is be first on air, create an emotional response, and retract later any bad facts. The problem I have seen is a focus on pushing narratives in similar stories that may have nothing really connected. One news director explained it to me as "creating a soap opera but with news stories". It all boils back to ad revenue. The more ratings, the more money and the only way to get there fast and cheap is by sensationalizing hot topics.
