To our best knowledge (basically, Bwana), Skip Towne passed away on March 24, 2023. I didn't exactly have the most positive run-ins with him, but everyone who was anyone on here in the beginning deserves a thread in the In Memoriam forum.
I say we share our best (or worst) encounters with Skip, and then, only once this thread reached 100 posts, move it. :-) [Reply]
RIP Skip...he actually helped me with a satellite dish issue once. Appreciated his help.
Other times we would bicker about stupid little crap. I think he was actually the first person to Neg rep me eons ago and his comment with it was hilarious. But all in all we got along.
Seeing this reminds me I was in my early 40's when this place started. Now I am an old "get off my lawn" guy.

That was just plain over the top wrong. He is known as the grumpy old man. I am now a full decade older than he was at that time so I totally get the grumpy part, but that was pure bullshit. [Reply]

I was randomly looking at the list of top members by post count today, and I noticed that Skip is still on the first page (#30) even though he hasn't posted for a decade. The dude was quite prolific for his time (especially given the WebTV thing). [Reply]
