The other gets hit maybe a half dozen times a game, and is protected by NFL mandate and flag-happy refs.

While I agree that both are great, it’s a .690 winning percentage (overall) versus an .813 winning percentage (post bye). That’s a pretty significant disparity.
It’s like the difference between a team going 13-3 every year versus a team going 11-5.
Team A is going to end up with a much different playoff seed than Team B.
