Can somebody explain this to me? With Mahomes' injury, people automatically assume the worst. But Wentz winning a game? That's almost a sure thing. People have lost their minds.
It's not a sure thing at all. I just don't much care if they beat the Texans or not and think the outcome of the game is quite meaningless in comparison to Mahomes' health.
This team can win a SB with the #7 seed if Mahomes is healthy and playing football for them. They can't win the SB if they are the #1 seed and Mahomes is injured.

Football Gods frown on mitigating risk...this whole sport revolves around it...we also know the football Gods love Mahomes way more than any other human.

The football gods didn't save him from getting crunched yesterday in a meaningless slog of a game. It could easily happen again on Saturday if you throw him out there. [Reply]

Worst case Mahomes gets a worse sprain than now (mild) and they shut him down for 3 weeks after Saturday to rest for the playoffs.
Those all sound like things Wentz is perfectly capable of doing. [Reply]

Chiefs won...and he will play like nothing ever happened on Saturday. This is how they work... [Reply]

They tried their absolute best to save Mahomes from playing in the fourth quarter yesterday. [Reply]

The choice is obvious.
The choice isn't obvious. You're assuming, again, that if Mahomes plays against the Texans he will get hurt.
The chances of him getting hurt are exponentially lower than them losing the #1 seed because Cason Wentz is broken and can't actually play anymore. [Reply]

Or he could emerge unscathed, like he has the other 13 slog fests this season. Stop assuming he's gonna get hurt worse than he already is. [Reply]
