Hell, Durant even signed a max deal to pull off his bitch move. Nothing shady about it. James, Wade, and Bosh conspired to each take 15 million less than the max they easily could've earned just so they'd all fit onto the same team together. So we've got pretty blatant cap manipulation on top of the borderline tampering behind the scenes it took for the deals to come together. [Reply]

“But but but 73 win team”
Like the Heat weren’t a world class organization that had recently won a championship with a legit #1 star player and former Finals MVP. Arguably the 3 best players in the conference coming together to take over the league and win “not 1, not 2…”.

Yeah Lebron really moved the needle the last time he was in the Finals...

The revisionist history is absurd.
They won in 06 because Dwayne Wade was getting foul calls anytime someone attempted to defend him. [Reply]

Yes there are alot of dumb people in this country. College hoops is a garbage product with basically only a few teams caring enough to illegally buy players. Brick show on the court to boot. Fun.... [Reply]

This guys roots for a Bama fleshlight football program and thinks he’s watching a “good product”. Who is winning it all this year? Bama or Ohio State or Clemson?? [Reply]

Tee shirt fan boy...No one should care about collegiate sports other than students faculty alumni and boosters. Having no affiliation at all with a state or program sure brings that beaker pride though! [Reply]

Sport viewership in general was way down across the board in 2020. Check any sporting event you can find from that year and you'll see a similar effect. With respect to the NBA specifically, I remember some trying to blame it on the BLM stuff at the time, but of course that had nothing to do with anything. Everyone was just watching less stuff during the pandemic.
My suggestion would be to go look at the ratings in 2016 and 2017 (and then the significant dropoff in 2019 when it was Warriors/Raptors instead of Warriors/LeBron).
You mean the years that Curry was also in the Finals? Could it be that people liked the matchup, rather than trying to explain away why Lebron was a draw then and isn't now? [Reply]

See dropoff from 2018 to 2019. LeBron is the King in the end. [Reply]
