Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Projected Contract 6 year $145 mil
dlphg9 08:17 PM 03-28-2022
So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.

That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL

How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?

I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave.

Yeah, they could have kept Tyreek at whatever number they wanted. They didn't, now, some of that is because other issues, but at this point, whatever.

I just hate having a position like LT so influx.

Teams figured us out and our defense was comprised of declining old once good players (Clark, Hitchens, Matheiu, Sorenson), a player whose prime will be over in a year or two (Jones) and garbage.

Seriously this team had pitiful garbage like Hughes, Neimann, Sorenson, Clark, Hitchens and Matheiu. It was bad. It was so bad that they brought back Okafor before the season and were damn lucky Ingram was even available.

The defense needed an injection of youth and talent. It’s completely understandable that Veach loaded up on picks in a year that the draft was loaded due to players have stay longer due to Covid.
Lol that's bullshit. We just didn't have any other WR that could take attention away from Hill. It's not like he got figured out or Mahomes got figured out. That's why we signed Juju initially.

Yeah, no one "figure out" anything. Our all world QB needed to learn and we needed more weapons.

Theoretically we now have the 2nd, we'll see about the first.

Not really, we wouldn't have either Creed Humphrey or Nick Bolton if we didn't make that trade. Not ideal, but we already had a cheap LT for a year and Bolton or Creed. We will then get the tag and trade value for OBJ. We did alright either way.

So was there just zero communication during that period he had no agent? Like Veach was totally unaware of what he'd demand? Does OBJ understand how business works?

Did Travis Kelce die? He’s pretty good right?

And yeah we were figured out. Bengals proved that in the 2nd half of the championship game.

Also yeah you have Tyreek on a huge contract and Juju for one year while your defense is total shit bc you don’t have picks to get a player. You also don’t have Kinnard as a possible RT.

Sounds like off brand 2018 at best

Tough one. Any top OT FA is going to demand top dollar and you never know how someone will fit in KC's system and QB quirks (dropping back further than most QBs).

I strongly disagree with those who say OT isn't that important because of Mahomes' mobility. The pass rush in the west is fierce and his scrambling ability is only going to decrease with age and abuse.

Go through the growing pains of a young early draft pick or overpay a good but not great OT on the roster?

You get bent over and retain him. Period

So the Bengals played completely differnet in the 2nd half than the first? Or was it more likely the QB vapor locked and played a shit half.

I don’t understand how anyone can possibly deny that we were figured out. We killed the Bengals in the first half until the last 10 seconds. Then we turned to total shit.

A HOF offensive coach, best QB in football, best TE in football, too 5 WR, good OL, RB that was performing well. And we turned to shit in a complete 180 from the first half.

If that’s not being figured out, then what is it?

Hot take alert!!

Mahomes needs to free lance less and play from the pocket more and use the free lance stuff only at last resort.

We weren't figured out the QB played like shit. QB will be more likely to play like shit without decent LT. You were getting bent over the day you made the trade for Brown. It's time to pay up this shouldn't be surprising

So what are we saying they "figured out" ?

The same thing happened in the first Bengal game. They figure us out, then forget, then remember?
