Anyway- Word had 1 good year and a couple of part-time ones before being traded to the Vikes.
I have to go with Surtain.
If he hadn't traded in 23 for the Haglunds infected 29, Fuller had a chance to hopefully someday be the best to wear 23. But, since his only year in 23 was nothing special, he's not the choice. I probably have to go with Word. Okoye and Word was a pretty fierce backfield. [Reply]
Looks like the best Chief ever to wear 22 was a headcase that had to be traded away on his rookie contract. Such a shame. Peters could have been special in KC if he could have just kept his head on straight. [Reply]
Day 21 brings us Dunta Robinson and Javier Arenas. But the best to wear 21 comes down to a battle between safety Jerome Woods and RB Mike Garrett. I wasn't around to see Garrett play, but I've heard enough about him to give him the nod. Everyone says that he was a big part of the Superbowl win. That's good enough for me. [Reply]
Cherry was amazing to watch. He is still among my favorite Chiefs. But, I'm going to tell about an early Chief who wore number 20 and was a pretty good ballhawk himself. Bobby Hunt. Hunt had 37 interceptions for the Chiefs over six seasons, and he even led the league with 10 in ’66. He was before my time, so I can't tell you much else about him. [Reply]
