2021 Recap
A rough 2nd half of our 4th straight AFC Championship game prevented us from going to our 3rd straight Super Bowl.
It was an up-and-down season with some incredible highs and confusing lows. Our Offense was at sometimes mediocre, and other times incredible, with the final game being a microcosm of this. Our Defense went from worst in the league, to the best in the league, back to somewhere in between when it was all said and done.
Last year Veach attacked the OL in the offseason with incredible results. He made a key mid-season trade for Ingram, which helped our terrible pass rush become decent again. He nailed the '21 draft with Humphrey, Bolton, and Smith.
This offseason should present a defensive mini-overhaul, focusing on the Edge position, improvements in the secondary, and just a few skill-player upgrades on Offense. The list of holes is not long, but they should be improved if we want to continue our status as the top team in the AFC.
Overview
This is the 11th year in a row that we will be tracking the college players the Chiefs have publicly or privately expressed interest in leading up to the NFL Draft.
Last year was rough in that COVID prevented people from attending most of the major events (No combine, virtual visits, etc...). While we did get Nick Bolton on our list, I'm hoping for better results this year.
For those who are new: the way this operates is that we collectively monitor various social media sources, blogs, articles and reports for news of the Chiefs' interest in a certain player. When posted in this thread, I will update the OP to include the player. *Please provide the link to the article, the players name, position and team.
I am going to try to link to player profiles when they exist, courtesy of The Draft Network, other sites' write ups, or their team's website.
Back at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, WalterFootball.com reported there were serious character concerns that were hurting Georgia defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt with pro teams. Wyatt put together an excellent combine workout, many began projecting him to the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Multiple NFL teams told WalterFootball.com since that they have dropped Wyatt off their boards because of repeated incidents of domestic violence.
In February of 2020, Wyatt was arrested for a "family violence" incident. Team sources say that their private investigators found out about three additional domestic violence incidents. With that in his background, sources from multiple teams say Wyatt is off their draft board.
I knew about the 2020 incident and brought it up a few days back, but the part about repeated incidents I haven't seen anywhere. Interesting. [Reply]

Me either.
McShay was on Russillo's podcast yesterday and mentioned that Wyatt had a character incident, but it was a one off deal and his record was otherwise sterling. At least I think that's who he was talking about. It's a pretty entertaining listen, if you've got the time.
Obviously McShay is getting his stuff from teams. I'm guessing teams are willing to take that specific risk for that dudes talent. [Reply]
Washington State CB Jaylen Watson is visiting with the #Chiefs today, per source. Watson has had workouts, in-person and/or virtual visits with 22 teams. A long (6-3, 204) press corner.

Not much has gotten out into the media since Veach took over. Not too much on top prospects other than a couple WRs. I'm sure they have met with nearly all of them but we aren't going to know about it until after the draft.
I wouldnt' make too much out about top-30 visits. Not even sure why they call them that. Top-30 guys you have the most questions about usually. [Reply]

I'd say Veach and Andy probably have met with some people and it was kept under wraps. Keep the other guys guessing. [Reply]
