Nzoner's Game Room>****Official Mizzou Football 2022-2023 Thread****

Here’s the Tigers’ full schedule:

Sept. 1: Louisiana Tech, 7PM W

Sept. 10: at Kansas State, 11:00AM

Sept. 17: Abilene Christian, 11:00AM

Sept. 24: at Auburn, time TBD

Oct. 1: Georgia, time TBD

Oct. 8: at Florida, time TBD

Oct. 15: Bye

Oct. 22: Vanderbilt, time TBD

Oct. 29: at South Carolina, time TBD

Nov. 5: Kentucky, time TBD

Nov. 12: at Tennessee, time TBD

Nov. 19: New Mexico State, time TBD

Nov. 25: Arkansas, 2:30 p.m.

I found the schedule, so I figured that now is as good of a time as any to start a new thread. Coach Drink has done well turning around the mess that Odom left behind. Solid recruiting has our best commit class in years coming in this year. The schedule isn't bad. A bowl game should be a given. I would like to see 9 -10 wins this year, with one of the wins coming against Arkansas. I really don't like losing to Odom.

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz called it the best recruiting class ever for the Tigers.

Sure enough, Mizzou's current class is ranked No. 11 by ESPN, No. 14 by 247 Sports and No. 17 by Rivals, the highest in program history

I'd be surprised if Burden follows. He's a premier piece in the Offense and should be raking in NIL money.

I don't know why Lovett would leave. Yeah our QB sucks, but he was 3rd in the SEC in rec yds, 5th in rec, and 7th in targets as a sophomore.

Burden is on quite a few tv commercials.

Young adults don't make the best decisions.

I'd say going to a better Power 5 school with more NIL $ and a better coach would be a good decision.

I mean, that seems like a good decision. "If I can do that with a shit QB, let me see what I can do with a good QB"

If that's a guarantee sure, but most portal transfers do not work out.

We have no idea who will be taking snaps in 2023 and getting snaps somewhere 'better' is anything but a guarantee.

I am 99% pro-player on these moves but the risk of things backfiring is high.

Now if we're talking about players struggling to get PT, hell yeah hit the portal.

Frank Cusumano tweeted this

On a positive note, spoke with Luther Burden’s dad today. He told me Luther is not leaving Mizzou

Yeah - but Frank Cusumano is a cunt.

So there's that.

Luther's tweet is about as reassuring as you can hope for from a 19-year-old, but Lovett is a devastating loss.

Lol I'm not familiar with him. I just know he works for a news station in STL, so I figured he was at least half credible.

Maybe it's just him trying to get us fork over some cash. He's probably not making hardly any NIL money and he's like the 2nd best WR in the SEC, so he deserves to get his too.

I was for NIL in principle but boy does the execution leave a lot to be desired.

Honest question: Does someone like Lovett have an agent for even college decisions? If not, how long until someone does? And then does it become an arms race akin to MLB, with no theoretical salary (ie, NIL) cap?
