Jon Favreau is directing this live-action TV series.
Looks TIGHT.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.

I was pretty down on Star Wars at that point, especially Hayden Christensen's "acting". I've told this story many times over the years but I ran into Hayden at my gym, just before the movie was released.
I told a famous director friend of mine about the encounter and he replied "Was he unconvincing as himself?".

How could he miss so so bad on casting Anakin? That was really hard to do.
Well, to be fair, his options were very limited. Joshua Jackson? Chris Klein? James Van Der Beek? Colin Hanks? Ryan Phillipe?
I can't see any of those guys as Anakin, either.
DiCaprio really wanted the role and Lucas was keen to hire him, until negotiations with his agent went sideways because DiCaprio insisted on "Creative Input". Once that happened, he was out.
All that said, the rest of the cast was stellar, from Keira Knightly, Natalie Portman, Rose Byrne (who I love!), Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Temuera Morrison, Christoper Lee and so many more.
It's just a damn shame that Lucas missed on his star. [Reply]
The loss was going to happen, but the Fett inclusion was total Duex Ex Machina fan service, and now Mando's going to form an "A-Team" rescue squad that'll include more Mandalorians that are resentful that Fett's included in the rescue mission because it's very possible that he'll betray Mando
Moff Gideon plans to use the Dark Troopers to smuggle drugs throughout the known universe to finance a new Empire with himself as the shadow Emperor and he wants Grogu because it takes a Jedi to cook the best meth. Seen it coming a mile away.
Hate to see Mando getting stupid. He should have immediately grabbed his jet pack when the shooting started but left it sitting there. That was blonde-bimbo-in-a-horror-movie dumb. I wonder if he missed it while running up the hill? :-)
It was nice to see Fett back in action. I'm sure Clay's Boba boner will not subside after four hours. :-)
I watched this morning at 12:00am and need to watch it again but man, I was really shocked at the pace of the episode! It wast the shortest so far this season but it was just wall-to-wall action.
I can't wait to see who that Force Beacon summoned through the Force.
It'll be interesting to see how the destruction of the Razor Crest affects the Mando on his journey because he'll no longer be off the grid.
And finally, we get to see why Boba Fett earned his reputation, which was about a million times more cool than Jango Fett, who was kind of a sloppy clutz.
Good lord, the Stormtrooper are just worthless. While I think it's cool, I'll never understand why Stormtrooper wear armor that is useless against a simple blaster. What's the point?
Now that Ahsoka and Mando have "reactivated" Grogu's Force Powers, will he be able to fend of Gideon and Dr. Pershing?
Maybe "someone" arrives at the last minute to free Grogu, which would be incredible.
