Every once in awhile someone somewhere will turn me onto a new band or group I hadnt heard of. Might be something older like Nat King Cole that you woldnt ever think you would like or something from your childhood that you just dont remember like Social Distortion that you have a new found respect for or a new band that you had to go find everything they had ever done.
Mine would be The Drowning Men, they were signed by Borstal Beat records after touring with Flogging Molly (BB is FMs label) the wife and I have seen them numerous times and its always a great show. http://www.thedrowningmen.com/
My personal favorite song is "Rita". Enjoy
Im hoping to find some more good groups from this thread! [Reply]

The Bunny Gang is very cool. Love that reggae vibe!! [Reply]
My nephews band is getting an opportunity to play at the whisky a go go on Wednesday night. My brother and I are headed to LA and then to Vegas to watch him. He's the lead guitarist and vocals and I think he is super talented. His band (Cimino) hails from KC. I am not particularly fond of his band name but whatever. Should be fun. I've never been west of Denver so I am pumped for this vacation. [Reply]

I saw video of them when they played the Boobie Trap in Topeka (Brian's an old friend). I thought they were very talented and would have been superstars in the 80's, but that music is a tough sell in 2015, as there's just not much of a market left.

Good luck to them!
I actually thought the same thing when I first saw them. [Reply]
Sounds like Suzanne Vega singing something Tori Amos would write.
And I mean that in a good way...
I dig what you're saying. I'd encourage you to check out her other stuff; very hypnotic, in a way. Tantalizing at times. This is one of her most popular at the moment. [Reply]

I appreciate your comments and agree with you. It will be tough for him unless he is able to branch into other areas. [Reply]

He's a very, very talented guy. If he can channel that talent to modern music, he'll have a better chance.
If he can learn production and churn out tons of tracks, he would have a future in Music Library Production, which can be very lucrative if you can crank out 10-15 (or more) great tracks a month for years on end. [Reply]
