And as someone else said its way way lower because of the unknown cases.
If there are 45,000 known cases, and most of them are active, then you aren't finding any mortality rate. The majority of those don't have a known outcome yet.

When she comes home from work, does she turn her mask that she's been wearing all day inside out and tell you to wear it for safety?

It would also mean it may not be THAT much worse than the flu, but it being novel and hitting us all at once it’s gonna clog up hospitals
I agree once we get a vaccine/heard immunity I might not be, I hope so anyways. It would even be better is this ****er never came back.

I heard 4-5 days behind Spain, France and Germany. However we're bigger and more spread out.

But that looks pretty accurate for say NYC right now.

I might have heard that somewhere before but I can't remember where.

Every person, doctor and otherwise I have heard over this entire ordeal has consistently used the formula of total deaths/total cases.

In terms of IfR or death rate

The problem is it’s hitting us all at once vs an entire flu season

Essentially like taking flu season and compressing it into a month

Again this is just my interpretation on reading studies and such

We're a few days behind the curve in places like NYC, but much farther behind in other areas, which is why piecemeal approaches to distancing and respecting quarantine may allow this thing to hop from hot spot to hot spot instead of getting snuffed out.

Don't forget that this is actually the second SARS pandemic. And the first one was caused by this:

Britan thought herd immunity was a solution. Now they are threating their citizens with jail and fines for public gatherings of more than 2 people.
