On the one hand, losing to Princeton is a very Mizzou thing. OTOH, if you had told me before the season that they would finish fourth in the SEC and win a tournament game, I would’ve been overjoyed [Reply]
Outplayed in every phase. Princeton was by far the better team today and deserves the win. Nothing from Hodge, Diarra played well for 2 minutes then didn’t guard anyone or block out the rest of the game. Carter was the only guy who showed up.
Still a great season, looking forward to next season. [Reply]
No. 1 seed and defending national champion Kansas has been eliminated from NCAA Tournament in the second round by No. 8 seed Arkansas, 721-71. https://t.co/78BOAVRJGM
I'm excited about next year. Gates started with basically nothing and went this far with a bunch of mid major transfers. The future looks good. [Reply]
Mizzou saw that '15' and just flat fucking didn't show up.
It wasn't even a 'man, those guys were hot' or 'man, we just couldn't finish'
They tried. We didn't. Got doubled up on the glass by a team that doesn't have a size or athleticism advantage. Did we get a single second chance bucket? Did we keep them under 20?
It was just a completely lifeless performance and it started from the opening tip when Princeton was just blowing past the defense without making a move or setting a screen. Lazy lazy lazy lazy ass basketball and these guys should hang their fucking heads.
It ruins the entire season for me. Many of these are going to be 1 and done guys and all I'll ever remember them for is fucking putting a stamp on an NCAA tournament game.
Tough way for the season to end, but it was a fun one.
Top 4 conference finish, conference tournament semis, won a game in the tournament.
It's a building block for the team and program and that's how I'll look at it.
If Kobe Brown comes back like I think he will, next year will be a lot of fun.
I also gained so much confidence in Gates. Keep in mind that this team accomplished all of this despite not getting much contribution from Isaiah Mosely and Jamorrion Sharp deciding to stay at Western Kentucky (because Stansbury begged him to come back and help him not get fired, then got fired anyway because he sucks).
Add a better option than Gholston for late in the shot clock shot creation and a defensive and rebounding dynamo in the middle and this team is excellent.
His vision for how to bring this together was excellent. Some bad breaks left it short of what it could have been. [Reply]
