Nzoner's Game Room>Mahomes Injury Updates Thread
Chiefspants 04:51 PM 01-21-2023
Figured it would be more ideal to give this its own thread than the Jaguars gamethread.

Unspoiler to see the first two updates

Spoiler!

UPDATE 3: Courtesy of King - High Ankle Sprain Confirmed

MRI today confirmed that Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday’s win over the Jaguars, per league source. “Nothing more than that,” said one source, and Mahomes has said he plans to play in next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

UPDATE 4: Got asked to add this report from Arrowhead Pride to the OP: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2023/...chiefs-presser

Folks, one of the Chiefs trainers is on CP.
I'm speaking strictly on 3rd and 1 or 3rd and inches. Obv want Mahomes in there on every other down.

The Blake Bell QB sneak does not work very well.

Best thing that can happen for KC is a straight up pick-em, so it takes away any chance for 'steering'.

I know, I know, it sounds like tin-foil hat shit, but fucking Carl Cheffers is fucking corrupt, and you're not going to convince me otherwise.
I've been following it for years. You are right. There is no conspiracy, games are steered.

Playing both sides to try and get back to either way they win scenario. Makes sense, early money on Bengals, middle of the week till the game shift it to the Chiefs.

You may put me 100% behind this statement. Cheffers is the one official I never want to see officiating a Chiefs game. He is absolutely corrupt. I don't even worry about any of the others. Some may be bad but I don't believe they are corrupt.

The fact that Cheffers has accounted for 17% of the Chiefs total penalties and 20% of their penalty yards this season despite only working two Chiefs games seems to be a suspicious statistical anomaly.

If we make it to the Super Bowl, Chiefs nation should make a HUGE deal out of this for the two weeks prior to the game.

Make it really difficult for him to do it in full view with everyone in the world thinking about it while watching.

So I was trying to figure out where/how it would hurt. It's where your foot torques to the outside right? So it would be at the back of every dropback? Am I understanding that right?

Fuck.

It's his right ankle, so anything that takes his toe/foot and rotates it to the right (outward). Keep in mind that having his foot planted and having his knee pushed inward from the side or spinning/rotating his body to the left would cause the same torque.

Easy enough to avoid in real life, damn near impossible in football. He's going to have to be tough as shit.
