to be clear bro... i posted a question, with an alternative answer. you were either the author of that page, or you used the image as an example of what you had done. and the only reason i recognized the image was that i had done a lot of research on mods for cheap smokers. :-)
as far as my smoker, its called a 'texas ranchero'. i have extended downward into the cook chamber the chimney. added a pseudo deflector plate above heat inlet of smoker, and the corrugated steel on smoker hood. ignore the firebox insert as that was more a fail than anything. the small holes choked out the fire too much. these are some past pics attached :-)
