Yeah it looks like NY is at 15k total positives, not 22k like worldometer is saying.

They're still behind in per capita, but catching up quickly.

it's not like they are going to pull people over, impound the car and throw you in jail

just don't have a barbecue at the park and you'll be fine FFS

That number "is a snapshot. It's changing probably as I'm speaking to you today," she said. "We have many more who have been sent home, either Covid-positive tested, or presumed to have that."
I was going to say that the math says there would be 200K in NYC with around 10K on ventilators by the time they peak in 10 days. Hearing that the positive rate is this high, that the subway is (stupidly) still running, and that they doubled in a day would lead to a revised number of 567,000 with 113,400 hospitalized and 28,350 on life support.

If the math holds at these levels.

Until they restrict travel out of the state, New Yorkers with the financial means are going to flee to states with less draconian measures.

The mandatory "shelter in place" (nice way of saying virtual house arrest) shit is not sustainable long term.

15,168 cases in NYS. Up 4000 from yesterday. 114 deaths.

More relevant is how many people will have a severe case of COVID-19 that will require hospitalization.

yeah, that’s how most of the Doctors, nurses, RT’s, janitorial staff etc. get to the hospitals.

The cops aren't going to pull over every car they see on the road.

It is still legal to go places.

If for some weird reason some over-eager pig pulls you over there are a dozen different excuses in the official document.

I'm going to be doing a lot of grocery shopping at my girlfriend's place. And I know she likes to pick up sausage at mine.

of course. I would think that NYC itself would probable skew younger than the national average too. That should help the hospitals from being overwhelmed.

We are supposed to all in this together but we are forcing states to compete with each other for basic medical supplies that will save life’s.

The federal government needs to step in here.
I understand why this is upsetting and there are plenty of hoarders would be price gougers who are evil.

But even being way left of center, I sort of suspect that if people can sell them for 6 times the normal cost, production will ramp up faster.
