To avoid hangovers: DRINK LOTSA WATER. Drink a lotta water when you booze, and drink a lotta water when you wake up. The nephrons in your kidneys reabsorb 80% of the water that passes through the glomerulus in what is called "obliglatory reabsorption," an osmotic side effect of ionic reabsorbtion. Reabsorbtion of the other 20% is governed by anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) at the distal convoluted tubule. 'Cept for one problem.... alcohol renders ADH useless. Thats why you piss so much when you imbibe. Ya just get dehydrated and get a headache and feel like crap. The only way to counteract the effect is to rehydrate as much as possible. So... when you drink... drink water! And after you drink.... drink water! [Reply]
