Cant recall ever seeing a thread on this topic so i thought it was time we had one... this thread is dedicated to military weaponry of any kind, from any era or nation.
There is a seemingly endless array of novel, fascinating, revolutionary or even ill-fated hardware out there so subject material shouldnt be a problem.
great, now Japan is trying to corner the market on stealth planes. 20 years from now they'll be a reasonably priced entry stealth plane for air forces on a budget. [Reply]
To see four of these come in for a landing one right after another on Friday's or take off in the morning in order for training exercises still gives me the chills after 3 years. Our HQ office is at the end of the runway at Andrews Air Force Base just outside the perimeter. They come in and take off super fast. The noise is incredible
for some reason, even after being on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson and seeing/hearing lots of takeoffs and traps, the EA-6B I swear was the loudest god damned thing on that ship. [Reply]

been a while since my intel days, but left to right it looks like an AIM-7, AIM-9, spare fuel, AIM-120, and AIM-7.
not sure what the two pods under the fueslage are...probably active ECM or laser pod? [Reply]
Thats killer, Notorious... I wasnt aware of the XL, a pretty bird indeed
A quick check says that even though it could carry twice the ordinance of a regular 16, and carry it 40% farther, it basically lost out due to being a single engine platform [Reply]
