yeah, I bought it on VHS in the 90s and it was called Hara-kiri. I wore that tape out. it is closer to Chambara than it is a realistic jidaigeki. still, you cant go wrong with Nakadai in the lead role. Hara-kiri was remade recently but I haven't seen the remake. [Reply]

Commando is a top five 80s action flick, and one of my all-time favorite quotable movies.

Time to crack the whip!! Damn I always loved this movie too. I still vividly remember watching this and Xtro on VHS on a weekend I stayed at my dads. Back to back lol. Obviously a great memory for some reason.
Also to add to the thread. One of my favorites has always been The Rundown starring The Rock. Also part action part horror I loved Overlord. Was crazy from start to finish. [Reply]

When i see the name Striker,i can't help but think of the movie Airplane,or maybe that is where you got it from : ). I like your list, but i would throw in the old Rambos as well, but i'm sure they've already been mentioned. [Reply]

Ooooh, yes. Very underrated.
Add Day After Tomorrow to the list as well.

Watched that one for the first time within the last few years and would agree on it being so bad it’s good.
A lot of Arnie’s other classics are legitimately good movies. [Reply]
