Ok, guys. Frank has stopped drinking and is serious about this season. I can’t stop drinking for more than 8hrs at a time so Clark’s abstinence is notable and impressive. He and Andy had a heart to heart, shared some cheeseburgers (Frank is probably now also vegan and went Impossible Burger), chugged some Mr. Pibb, and came to an understanding.
Watch his presser from today. It’s probably one of the most real and honest things I’ve seen from a player. If you’re rooting against Frank Clark after that you’re probably either repressing some demons in your life or are related to Red Dawg.
This is a safe space to celebrate Frank Clark this season. 8 sack minimum. Let’s build this guy up rather than choosing to spend the season breaking him down.
Join me on the Shark bandwagon. There’s blood in the water.
And the obligatory: keep doubting Frank fucking Clark. [Reply]
Chris Jones wrecked one of them. Clark was the beneficiary of Jones work. You should've quit while you were ahead there.
The other one was a nice TFL to bring up 3 and 12 instead of 3rd and 8 - then an incomplete pass. And again, I've already noted that was a very nice play. But 'wrecked' the drive? Because he made a tackle on 2nd and long? I mean Gay is the guy who set that play on fire but credit to Clark for keeping his balance and finishing it; that's how defense works and what you should be getting from solid complementary players. But Lawrence just gacked the throw on 3rd down after Kirk tripped coming out of his route. What 'wrecked' that drive was Kirk slipping on 3rd.
No, I'm not giving Clark the benefit of the doubt on anything. I'll concede this point. But y'all are treating him like he's your kid out there playing little league.
Um, I don't think Frank was trying to rush from the outside in that clip. He never even tries to get around the outside of the LT. In fact, he even widens as he rushes up field, but never really engages the LT, but he never takes his eyes off Trevor, and as soon as he gets even with Trevor, he stops, and the loops back into the middle.
And no one thinks it's a little odd that CJ stays on the outside shoulder of the LG, when he easily could've crossed over his face?
I guess it's possible that Frank is playing contain, except then you have Frank, Saunders and Carlos all playing contain and just CJ rushing, which doesn't make a ton of sense.
Tbh, it looks suspiciously like the set-up rush Cullen called a few games back, but with Frank on the other side of the line.
Who did Cullen coach for before he came to KC? Going to have to see if he's designed this before.
Nevermind, he was with JAX. Watching 2021 JAX highlights now, looking for similar designs. See if this pops up from last year. [Reply]

His first steps as he gets into the OT are to the OT's outside shoulder and at the same time his helmet flashes that way. He's clearly starting with a wide rush. Otherwise he wouldn't have taken those wide strides (that's wasted energy/time).
As for Jones - just looks like he was attempting a bull rush. Jones will occasionally just look to collapse the pocket. It's part of a pass-rush plan with him, IMO. He has to keep the Gs aware of the possibility of a bull rush to keep his crossover move as effective as it is.
It looks far more simple to my eyes than you're suggesting it is. That's Jones on a bull rush and Clark from a wide set looking to get the edge. When Jones gets momentum on his bull rush, he keeps at it. When Little beats Clark to his rush point, he tries to engage and break inside. [Reply]

This has to be trolling, right? Because we hosted the AFC Championship game in the only year we had Mahomes, Kelce and Jones but DIDN'T have Frank Clark, fellas.
Nothing will make that contract 'worth it' - absolutely nothing. He's been a massive waste of capital.
The only thing he can do is salvage some pride after stealing checks for 4 years.
Chris Jones has zero career playoff sacks.
Frank Clark is tied with Reggie White for FOURTH ALL TIME. [Reply]

There's far more to playing DL in the NFL than just getting sacks. This "criticism" of Jones is silly. He's playing well regardless. He's doing what it takes to win. [Reply]

It's possible. Just saying it does look similar to the design Cullen said he installed a few weeks back that ended up with CJ getting a sack.
But That looks exactly like a contain rush by Frank. When he actually tries to rush, he either gets his hands on the T's chest plate and tries to bullrush him, or he tries to get underneath the T's hands and tries to get around him to the outside; he isn't doing either of those in the clip. [Reply]
