Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Jr signs with Bengals
ShowtimeSBMVP 08:19 PM 03-15-2023

Sources: Four-time Pro Bowl tackle and Super Bowl champ Orlando Brown Jr. is finalizing a four-year, $64.092 million front-loaded deal with the #Bengals that includes an over $31M signing bonus — largest ever for an o-lineman.

This.

A majority of the times that Taylor gives up a sack or a pressure it's because Mahomes drops too far back. It is what it is because he's done that his entire career but it still makes it hard for the OTs.

It was Chris Jones holdout ass that kept us from not signing a WR not Taylor's $5.825M Cap hit.
Forgive King, he is absolutely fucking clueless when it comes to this shit, hence why he's conveniently always operating in hindsight talking about what we "should've" done.

For all intents and purposes none of these things kept us from signing a WR. We could have signed one and structured the deal to still be under the cap if we wanted to at any time. I mean, Hopkins has a 3 mil cap hit this year. There's 100% chance we could have found a way to make that cap hit work if we wanted to.

And our cap hit went down from Chris Jones deal so no, he for sure didn't keep us from signing anyone.

And it's almost like the decision wasn't exclusively Veach's. Hopkins had a choice in this as well.

THe whole Jones saga wasn't finished until Dhop had already signed.

Stop letting your facts get in the way of his hindsight GMing.

Dude did visits with the Patriots and Titans and didn't sign for a month after. That tells me we weren't anywhere near his ball park when it comes to contract offers.

Because of Chris Jones and his holdout.

And we could have still signed DHop and adjusted Chris Jones contract accordingly. Or restructure Mahomes for a couple million and sign DHop without interfering with Chris Jones negotiations. Or sign DHop with available cap space and back load his deal to next year.

There's always options.

Andy and Brett told us in February that they thought Toney was WR1 and Skyy would be much better this year.

There's your answer

They had to have redone Pat's deal by a certain date, which had already passed IIRC.

Backloading it would have been the way to have done it, but I would guess they didn't wanna pay that. I dunno.

Thinking Toney could even play enough to be a number 1 option is sickening

Like Skyy, he must be showing something in practice everyday.

I refuse to believe they’re putting out the same product day-in and day-out that they’re giving us on game day and still being relied on so heavily..
