Philadelphia has agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first, league sources tell @mortreport and me.
The conditional second-rounder in 2022 becomes a first-rounder if Wentz plays 75 percent of the snaps or 70 percent and the team makes the playoffs. https://t.co/quAYwcz7bd
The Texans would be wise to figure this out now and trade Watson to the highest bidder before he has a chance to say who and where he would prefer to go. [Reply]
I think this is the ideal landing spot for Carson Wentz.
Don't really like the trade for Indy. They don't close the gap on KC here. At best they tread water if they can get Wentz back into a comfortable system and protection.
And they spent too much to do it. Not the worst thing either but overall poor value to give up picks for a QB that's on a bad contract.
Eagles: Good move to move on. Now they should target Trey Lance. [Reply]
Here we go with the "Colts are contenders" flavor of the month stuff.
They could be. If you get 2017 Wentz or anything close to it, they would be.
A top 3 defense in the conference probably and a top 5 offensive line in the league. They have the culture right in a major way which is half the battle. Hell, they gave Buffalo all they could handle just a month ago and that was with Philip. [Reply]
Back during their Super Bowl run in Philly they bragged about having two great quarterbacks. The old adage that “if you have two good quarterbacks you don’t even have one is again proven to be true. [Reply]

I don't think he was mailing it in. The exact opposite. He was trying to do way too much. He has a bit of the yips from all the injuries and holds on to the ball too long. Good example... I cringe every time I watch him dive for extra yards.
So this is actually a very good trade for him. It's a role that asks him to do a lot less. I think he's capable of doing way more but he needs this kind of dialed down offense to get his confidence back. [Reply]

Yup. Reich was his O Coordinator in Philly when he was in the talk for MVP. If anyone can fix him it's Reich. Again it's not like the Colts sold the farm for him nor will the Colts picks be in the Top 10. Highly doubt the Colts would have been able to draft a QB of his caliber where they are picking. This pick has the potential to give a high ROI for the Colts. If he doesn't pan out they didn't cripple the team either. [Reply]

Mailing it in? So if he was mailing it in, is he just stupid? Because only two types of QB's dive like this - ones who want to win or ones that don't fucking care about concussions. Given Wentz' injury history, you might want to rethink the "mailing it in" idea.
🔥🔥🔥 Carson Wentz Ties the game with 21 seconds left on their 1st touchdown of the 2nd half this season!!!
Sometimes a new scenery is what a player needs. Especially after so much pressure being put on Wentz after another QB won the Eagles a championship and then was shipped of for peanuts.
When has that ever happened? I think that did a number on Wentz and how the team viewed him. This is a win for the Colts and the Eagles can move on. [Reply]

They don't have a top 3 defense. It's top 10 but it ain't top 3, it ain't even top 5. And they don't have a top 5 offensive line when it comes to run blocking. They're actually not a great running team, despite the volume of carries and the emphasis.
They gave Buffalo all the could handle largely because Buffalo wasn't as good as everybody thought.
Yeah if he plays well, they'll be good. But we don't even know if he can stay healthy yet, let alone play well. [Reply]
