All true and yet his basketball IQ is still incredibly poor (not just defensively where he loses/leaves his man open on most possessions but offensively too).
It doesn't bode well for when January begins and his shooting starts going away. This team simply doesn't look that good ATM. [Reply]
The team lacks a real leader. Someone is going to have to take over that role because when Vick comes back to reality, this team is going to struggle more than they already are. [Reply]

I'm afraid, very afraid of what happens when Vick goes Ice cold for the rest of the year like in previous. We better have found a couple more outside shooters or it's the typical can't hit beyond 6 feet pack it in shitfest the rest of the year. [Reply]

This offense remains dreadful. This looks like the worst KU team in many years unless Grimes is a lot better than what he's shown for most of this season so far. [Reply]
KU does have a lot of depth, but they don't have a lot of fully formed quality players among that depth.
For example, D. Lawson is probably this team's best player with his post offense, rebounding, and passing ability but he can't shoot threes and he is an awful defender. Vick is a good shooter but he's awful at everything else in basketball (and I mean awful). Dotson brings the energy/drive/want that you love out of a player but he's not a great shooter or passer (at this point in his career). Udoka is a decent offensive player but he uses far too many possessions for his production, is incapable of passing out of the post, and isn't a good defender/rebounder for his size (although it looks like we may not have to worry about that the rest of the season). Garrett is a great defender but a non-factor offensively. Grimes and McCormack are very raw and can't be relied upon for much of anything (which I didn't expect after that first game for Grimes).
We really need Dotson, Grimes, and McCormack to develop quickly if this team is going to have the same kind of success that we've become accustomed to, I think. [Reply]
