For all things Royals in 2022. #3 minor league system according to Baseball America. The Bobby Witt era should begin this year. Will Salvy still be the homerun king? How does the glut of infield players work out? Will the young pitchers take the next step?

The Royals announced this morning they’ve requested unconditional release waivers on left-hander Daniel Tillo. Kansas City had designated the 6’5″ southpaw for assignment last week when setting the Opening Day roster.

Barlow's average velo is down 2.2mph from last year, the 4th biggest decline in the league. Per fangraphs:

Velocity spikes play a role here too, as his velocity has increased every season he has pitched. It started at just 90.6 MPH back in 2018, then skyrocketed to 94 MPH in 2019, and has increased ever since. It’s at least possible that he’s lost a bit of that mojo and is returning to his 2019 level, but it’s also possible that it’s been just 17 pitches and he’ll be fine. Relative to other closers, his underlying skills are fine enough, but not overly impressive. So if his velocity doesn’t come back and it chips into his strikeout rate, that could open the door. Who takes advantage is anyone’s guess though as the obvious candidate Josh Staumont has major control problems.
That doesn't sound terribly promising at all!

That stinks. I wonder if a Tommy John surgery in his future

despite the recent showing I'm less concerned with the bullpen than i am for the rotation.

I want a short leash for some of these guys, I like Zerpa better than Boobage and Heasley showed something last year. I also think Alec Marsh and Asa aren't too far away.

I really wish we'd invested in another veteran starter this off season to go with ProZack.

I want Montas but the price is too high.

Bubic was one of our best pitchers the last third of the season

After another pathetic offensive performance, your 5th place Royals are off to their typical shit April start.

Team batting average is .200. Opponents are .278.
KC is 28th in MLB in home runs and runs scored.
30th in on base percentage.
28th in slugging percentage.

Team pitching ERA is 5.71.
Today's matchup is brutal. Hope Boobs can cut down on his 67.5 ERA.

I always liked him when he was a Royal. Hopefully things go well for him.

TORONTO -- Blue Jays broadcaster Buck Martinez has been diagnosed with cancer and will be stepping away from the broadcast booth.

Martinez said in a statement released by Sportsnet that Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics would be his last for "a little while" as he begins weeks of cancer treatment.

This is for BWillie

Vinnie Pasquantino also hit his first triple of the year today. He finished 3-3 with a walk. Just a HR shy of the cycle. Batting .297 with an .854 OPS all of a sudden. 👀

Last week: Rōki Sasaki throws a perfect game with 19Ks in a 1-0 victory for the Chiba Lotte Marines in 🇯🇵

Today: Sasaki throws another 8 perfect innings with 14Ks before being taken out on 102 pitches at 0-0.

He has 17 consecutive PERFECT innings... 🔥pic.twitter.com/l1sOEDBi6U

Just came to the realization watching this video. Vinnie ain't no little buggar. He has essentially the frame of a large D1 defensive lineman.
