For all things Royals in 2022. #3 minor league system according to Baseball America. The Bobby Witt era should begin this year. Will Salvy still be the homerun king? How does the glut of infield players work out? Will the young pitchers take the next step?

Well these fucktards are against the stadium so you know a new stadium is a good thing

Today we issued our first formal statement on the proposal for a downtown Royals stadium.

We don’t need a flashy downtown stadium. We don’t need a playground for the wealthy and for tourists. And we definitely don’t need it if it costs us money. We need to house the people. pic.twitter.com/ftrqxcltic

I mean, I'm not fond of the Royals crying poor during Free Agency then expecting the taxpayer to give them some nice welfare checks to build their stadium.

If they're not going to spend for the product on the field, they can at least pay for the field.

Sherman is having the first listening session about the new ballpark tonight. Lots of news will come out of it I'm sure but this looks to be the biggest baseball news.

Royals CEO and Chairman John Sherman alludes to potential signing as he addresses crowd. Mentions they could be adding "pitching talent" soon.

He's a JAG for the bullpen.

There's your big splash.

The Royals announced a one-year deal with LHP Ryan Yarbrough. Per source, the deal is worth $3 million.

If that's a big splash I'd hate to see a small one.

I would bet he gets a shot at the rotation. He's about 50/50 in starts/bullpen appearances but remember he was in Tampa, a ton of those relief appearances were games where they used an "opener" for him and he'd come in for the 2nd or 3rd inning and pitch into the middle innings.

We'll have to see how Quatraro runs the staff coming from Tampa, they might do the same thing here.

The San Francisco Giants get their franchise player in Carlos Correa, who turned down $160 million from Houston last year, got $35.1 million in his year in Minnesota and now gets the most money ever for a shortstop. Correa bet on himself and was rewarded for it.

More and more teams spend money while the Royals just sit there.

The length of these contracts is just crazy. It's one thing when you do it for a Stanton or Tatis who are in their early 20s, but now they're giving some of these guys contracts until they're 40 or 41 years old. There's just no way that's going to turn out well.
