So...is the whole purpose of the "Kansas City Nice Trys" name change of the account related to the fact that the photoshopped enhanced version of the pic reveals "nice try" on the front of the uniform? Seems like a strained attempt to be clever? Or am I missing something? [Reply]
Prefer the powder blue changes, I think that looks better
On the roads I liked the script better but those still look good
They didn't do anything stupid, always a win in 2021 [Reply]
Also...Lucias Fox claimed by Balt via waivers. Austin Cox, Seuly Matias and Haake not protected. Not too surprising, although some team might get lucky by stashing Cox in their bullpen this year.
The Royals have selected right-handed pitchers Jonathan Bowlan, Collin Snider and Nathan Webb, catcher MJ Melendez and infielders Maikel García and Nick Pratto to the 40-man roster. Kyle Zimmer has been DFA’d.

The Kansas City Royals are reverting to their 1971-72 road uniform lettering, weird imperfections intact. Pro teams continue to look backward as the world marches forward. pic.twitter.com/b0dTRrnMzq
I mean, I don't have a doubt that O'Hearn would pass through waivers unclaimed. So if they want to keep him, they could release him and re-sign him after the fact.
The only way I can get on board with this is if the stubborn insistence on keeping him around is based on something the new hitting development guys are seeing/saying about him.
But even then... we have 1000 Plate Appearances which tell us he's a .215/.294/.401 guy.
Now, maybe their plan is to work a deal for Haake and/or Cox. I don't know. They have a surplus there and it would make sense to move some volume for an established player or for a lower level guy who doesn't have to be on the 40-man yet. [Reply]
