If you examine the past three games we have faced Cinci things begin to point toward a KC win.
First game we played was just us stepping on our own dicks. We had something to the tune of 10 penalties and a costly fluke 3rd and 27 that was converted because we went gung ho and blitzed 7. Just stupid.
Second game, Mahomes saw mad scientist Lou's ace up his sleeve. He brought out those false 6 man blitzes that ended up turning into 8 in coverage in the second half. Adjustments came in too late and even then this was a winnable affair if we just ran it and chewed. Again, more dick stepping by us.
Third game? We had the counters for everything Cincy put on our plate. We were a missed kick and an unbelievably rare fumble from a HOF TE away from winning this game.
Overall I think the composition of our team has changed drastically on defense for the better. Hitchens, Fenton, Ward, Oakfor, Sorenson, Niemann? All these guys played a sizable number of snaps in our first two games with Cincy. We are significantly improved, and if you take the most recent loss and analyze it - flukes aside we should win. FWIW, they looked fine against Buffalo.
Buffalo played soft coverage which allowed Burrow to get the ball out fast.

They've also had every bounce go their way, at some point that will change and Burrow will not continue to be perfect. [Reply]

RT Collins is out for the year.
LT Williams and RG Cappa are "improving every day." Longshots to play and if they did probably not 100%. [Reply]

My thoughts exactly. A regression toward the mean has to occur at some point for them. Those 50/50 jump balls that Burrow consistently dimes to Chase and Higgins will not always fall. It's akin to that funk Mahomes suffered last year where every pass would doink off Hills gloves and into the opposing DBs hands for an INT.
Curious to see how Cincy fares when that stuff inevitably starts to occur. [Reply]

the bengals dl is elite at run stopping but with the way our o line is playing in the run game rn we have a chance to run on them anyway. especially if they’re intent on rushing 3.
just hope we don’t abandon it too quickly. gonna probably need an 80-100 yard game from pacheco to win this. i’m sure we’ll also see a few jet sweeps with toney (and hardman if he goes). [Reply]
