Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Projected Contract 6 year $145 mil
dlphg9 08:17 PM 03-28-2022
So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.

That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL

How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?

I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave.

Since he finally has an agent now, are they expecting this deal to get wrapped up relatively quickly, or are we still pretty far apart on valuations?

Well his agent is still googling "how to do NFL contracts" so it may be a while

Hopefully its a decent contract that wont kill us for the next three years if he cant perform at a high level
Chiefs had a breaking point with Tyreek so we will see...very interdasting

To me, this is the attitude of a player who won't live up to a big, long term contract.

If he does, then that would justify not giving him a deal.

C'mon man, that's a little disingenuous. He had a pretty big head start on NFL contracts because he was in the medical field and he knows about the diabeetus. That's the building block of any good contract negotiator.

Nobody wants to play on the franchise tag. Pretty consistent theme amongst NFL players.

pretty much puts the ball in his court then
16 mill is better than sitting out for a season

I don’t see that. Hard to see any team giving him a contract he feels he deserves if he did that.

If they weren’t far off on negotiations, there would be no need to hire an agent and pay him. Orlando and Veach would have gotten something done already.

Yeah lets give an avg player at his position a ton of money just because hes kind of young (and fat). What could go wrong?

That's making some pretty big leaps. We have no indication that they actually started a good faith negotiation prior to him hiring an agent.

OBJr decided to hire a guy who doesn't know how to do the job because he wanted an outsider.

This has gone swimmingly in politics why not expand on the idea

Mahomes talking to media right now. Hung out with Orlando Brown yesterday. Talking him up about how much he loves Chiefs and football - sure sounds like he has the QB's support.

Expect him to sign now.
