How? The chiefs in Sutton's years were on average the 14th ranked defense in opponent TOP and the 9th ranked defense in scoring defense. Last year was literally the only yeah Sutton didn't field a top 10 defense in at least one of those categories if not both. That wasn't good enough but this year it is? Which is it?
Those last 2 years they bad at run defense and was rightfully shitted on for it. But this year we're worse so far at run defense but some people excuse it as being part of the plan or some other bullshit. [Reply]

Even week 1 film was insane. Jags ran so much play action with 7 blocking or had the TE chip and kept the RB on that side. [Reply]

Sooo, what you're saying is that you'd rather have Sutton back as DC, the guy who fielded what has been described as the ninth worst defense in NFL history for the last two years? [Reply]

Chiefs are 3 games into a new DC/new scheme/& a lot of new players. Give it a minute. Sutton's defense ranked last or near last in almost all significant categories last year. Barring any significant injuries, the Chiefs defense will end the year better than last year's defense. If that doesn't happen, remind me at the end of the season and you can have all of my Casino cash. [Reply]

Clark is a pass-rushing DE, does scheme matter? [Reply]

No, of course not. What's Spags thinking? He should be lining up his defense in punt block formation every down like you did in Madden 5. Every opponent would end the game with negative stats across the board . . . [Reply]

The defense last year was awful but the defense in 2017 was ok and the ones before that were elite. Sutton has a better track record at DC than Spags actually. I understand that he got let go and support the move. But I'm not going to give Spags credit for the same shit I hated Sutton for. Hopefully we do get a lot better after players gel. [Reply]

I forget. How much time did we give Sutton to install his defense that was "ok" in 2017, and was categorically one of the worst defenses the world has ever seen last year? Three weeks? [Reply]

What are you talking about?
Some positions are less effected by scheme than others. A running back can step in and start playing much faster than a WR after changing schemes.
I would think that lining up at DE and chasing the QB would be simplified in many schemes. A 3-4 is more complicated but a 4-3 DE often lines up and just goes.
What about Spag's scheme is hurting Clark's pass-rushing ability? [Reply]

Go back to the last page and read the links provided as well as listen the podcast audio link for the detailed answer to your question.
But as a very simplified response to your question, Spags isn't having Frank just line up and rush the passer. He's only doing that about 25% of the time. [Reply]
