Well, they don't have to play the 'Indians' anymore after this season, so there's your silver lining going forward to next season . . . . . . . [Reply]
The Indians have a great radio announcer, Tom Hamilton, and hearing his enthusiastic homerun call just now on Salvy's 47th was great. I had become a fan of Hamilton while listening to his call of Royals games in Cleveland (because Sirius XM typically has the home team's announcers doing the game). It always amazed me how much he knows about the Royals. It turns out his son is (or at least has been) a scout for the Royals. Anyway, that's a good dude, Tom Hamilton. [Reply]
Nothing against Soler but Salvy deserves that Royals HR record!
1 more to tie. Only 2 more to make it his own!
Would love to see 3 more, though, and see him get to 50! That’s something we will probably never see a primary catcher do ever again. With the way the game is going to more platooning with catchers. [Reply]
I remember a bang-bang play involving Bo Jackson and the Cleveland Indians at home plate. The Cleveland announcer call was awesome, something along the lines of "Bo's rounding third, here's the throw, 1st down!", with the latter remark coming after Bo barreled over the catcher like he was in a short yardage situation. I wonder who did that call. It's possible that it was Hamilton, but that would have been very early in his career. [Reply]

Agreed. Would love to see a career Royal like Perez hold the record over someone like Soler. [Reply]

He should at least be mentioned in discussions more. Guy leads the league in HRs and RBIs. Doesn't have the Ks that Ohtani has. A very respectable average.
I'd still vote Ohtani, but Salvy's having his career year in a HOF career. Can't say that about Semien, who seems to be behind Vlad Jr for runner-up in discussions. [Reply]
