Hud with the most old man lecture ever for Kowar that he needs to spit out his gum while pitching. Even talked about when his Mom would yell at him in Kindergarten "spit out that gum young man". [Reply]

I'm wondering if this means Wade Davis has thrown his last pitch in the major leagues. 13 seasons, $87+ million, the final out of the World Series, the best reliever in baseball from 2014-2016, when he had a 1.18 ERA in 183 innings. A hell of a career. https://t.co/xfkedSC2Bz
Awesome Salvy! Down in MLB history. That will be a tough record to break going forward given the way catchers are used nowadays. Hopefully he can get to 50!
BTW, Ryan’s TV call of the home run sucked. He sounded like a younger version of a checked out Denny Mathews. No excitement at all and didn’t even mention it to almost after the fact.
Would like to hear the radio call of the homerun. Bet that one was better. [Reply]

Doesn't surprise me. His radio call of the final out of the 2015 World Series was cringe-worthy. [Reply]

I heard it, it was okay. Someone will post it, but it went “ and Salvy hits the ball hard. It was a hanging breaking ball. And that ones gone!!!” And then added *hunter doziers home run went 25 feet further than salvys’. :-) [Reply]

No shit. He didn’t even mention it. I mean, it was only a 51-year old record :eyeroll: [Reply]

That’s disappointing.
Sucks that we don’t have a great audio call of that moment. Oh well.
At least the dugout knew what the hell was going on. They were all up and celebrating and yelling after he hit the home run.
I’ll have to listen to the Cleveland announcers call on my MLB app after it posts. Maybe they understood the moment . . . . . [Reply]

Interesting. I really enjoyed that call. I listened to that entire game on the radio. Ryan, I felt, did a great job painting a great picture of how the Royals arrived at that point in November 2015 by going all the way back to the 2014 wild card game.
Down four in the 8th “and I thought it was over and was trying to find something positive about the season ending…but some guys….right down there.. had a different story in mind”.
“Strike three called…. ITS OVER.., THEY’VE DONE IT….THE ROYALS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS”!!!! The world champion Kansas City Royals”!!! [Reply]
