You live in Austin TX. You should know exactly what an underachiever looks like. In both sports. :-)

If KU's an underachiever, what's Texas? Sweet Jesus.

Why? Being the best team in the Big 12 means you should be superior to Duke, Kentucky, Villanova, UNC, Gonzaga, etc? Makes zero sense.

I think every KU fan thinks that KU should have more titles. But they also recognize that it's very hard to consistently win six in a row in that format. There's a reason it's called March Madness and it's not because the best teams always advance.

And what haters don't seem to understand is that if KU had very many more titles, they'd be absolutely destroying everyone else. It's pretty silly to criticize a school for not destroying every other program in the nation. You're basically paying them a compliment.

Uh.....when has this happened to Self, other than Northern Iowa?

Tarkanian said “The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State two more years of probation.” What's that mean to you? Judging a program by the number or severity of punishments is pretty silly. We all know there's absolutely no consistency or fairness applied by the NCAA. IARP, who knows.

I don't know what point you're making about the Big 12. Are you saying that winning a lot of Big 12 titles should translate to winning the national title every other year?

KU fans have bitched plenty about Self's early tourney losses. But it's like people like you only pay attention to KU. Calipari just lost to a 15 seed. K lost to a 15 seed and a 14. Izzo lost to a 15 a few years ago. Roy used to bow out early all the time. Jay Wright used to lose in the 2nd round every year as a 1. I mean....who are we comparing Self to?
We are valuing Self regular season titles to his Natty titles.

I mean if the Big 12 is the best basketball league in the country and KU won it 10 years in a row plus many reg season titles before that then yes KU has sucked more than its fair share (statistically) in the tourney for many years. Compare KU in basketball to Alabama in Football over time. What would be the narrative if Alabama hadn’t won more Natty titles after dominating the SEC?

Bradley, Bucknell, Northern Iowa. Getting blown out by USC. Plus there’s other lesser meltdowns. Losing to Purdue and Arizona with talent laden teams.

For the past 30 plus years WSU has run a super, over the top and frankly “boy scoutishly” clean program. That’s why the admin. got rid of Marshall (a top 10 coach) for rabbit punching his 300lb Junior Center while kicking him out of the gym. He should have been made to apologize and then moved on. Instead they let Jeff Goodman run a bunch of stories and they caved. I think they’ll have an average year this season and then fire the coach. Hopefully they will bring in a winner and get them back on track. We will see.

No, but let’s get real we all know a top 150 player can be a great pro and a top 10 player can flame out. KU gets elite talent every year.

Morris told Stadium that Marshall punched him during a practice. Following a foul, Morris said he went to help teammate Zach Brown up and was then struck with a punch by Marshall. The incident, according to Morris, came the same day he told Marshall that his mother had cancer.

Stadium also reported that the staff member whom Marshall attempted to choke was former assistant coach Kyle Lindsted, who is now at Minnesota. Lindsted declined to comment when reached by Medcalf following Stadium's report.

Other allegations reported by Stadium, which talked to more than 30 current and former members of the program, included Marshall body-shaming a player who is now dealing with anxiety and depression; Marshall making "Indian howling noises" and telling Isaiah Poor Bear-Chandler, who is of Native American descent, "to get back on his horse"; Marshall telling Colombian center Jaime Echenique he would be "a great coffee bean picker"; and Marshall telling Erik Stevenson that he was "afraid of brothers, guys raised by their grandparents eating PB&Js."

Wichita State saw a mass exodus from its basketball program last spring, with eight players initially entering the transfer portal. Morris Udeze ultimately returned to the Shockers, but Asbjorn Midtgaard (Grand Canyon), Grant Sherfield (Nevada), DeAntoni Gordon (Northwest Mississippi Community College), Noah Fernandes (UMass), Stevenson (Washington), Jamarius Burton (Texas Tech) and walk-on Tate Busse all departed.

I can address this but it’ll bore you. The nugget of truth in some of the posts in this thread though is this. There are some 75-80 year old WSU fans who blame KU centric board of regent members for siccing the NCAA on WSU in an attempt to kill the program back in the 1970’- and early 1980’s. It’s probably true. I’ve never been too interested in looking into it.

Marshall never admitted to punching him. The coach he supposedly grabbed said it didn’t happen …. This is all East Coast bullshit pushed by Goodman … WSU was beating Temple and UConn and made a lot of media nervous about them when they joined the American. WSU’s AD Melted down and bought Marshall out. That AD got fired last year.
