Another done deal in Detroit: Lions are signing QB Jared Goff to a four-year, $212 million contract extension that includes $170 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN.

Goff now goes from former No. 1 overall pick to highest-paid Lion in franchise history. pic.twitter.com/FKlQuGDf8M

We keep saying that but how much better is Herbert really?

I always scoffed at Goff but he had a good year with Detroit getting away from LA was good for him. I hate him a lot less now.

From a physical ability/talent standpoint, a LOT. Like they aren't in the same zipcode.

Hope that helps slow their roster down, and ends up ruining the 9'ers squad lol

Feels like a massive overpay, even if you only account for the guaranteed $$$. Goff just isn't worth $53 million/yr.

Serious question. What team besides the Lions would pay him that?

These teams keep overpaying QBs in the hope that the money will magically turn them into Mahomes.

Out of interest, do many people in the US just get their firestick/tv box chipped for illegal streams? $900 annually is wild. $50 would get your firestick chipped in Ireland and you have access to every game of every sport televised annually.

There are people walking the planet that are older than the NFL. I think Marty, Herm, and PeeHoly may have left a scar or two.

I've been on an AI kick as of late. Check this one out from Google Gemini:

who were all the kansas city chiefs general managers?

Here's a list of all the Kansas City Chiefs General Managers, including their tenures:

Don Rossi (1960): The general manager for the team's inaugural season, then called the Dallas Texans.

Jack Steadman (1961 - 1975): Held the title of Executive VP/General Manager for a significant period, overseeing the team's move to Kansas City and name change to the Chiefs.

Jim Schaaf (1976 - 1988): Served as General Manager for over a decade.

Carl Peterson (1989 - 2008): Held the title of President/General Manager, overseeing the drafting of franchise quarterback Priest Holmes and the team's run to the AFC Championship game in 2003.

Scott Pioli (2009 - 2012): Brought in players like Eric Berry and Dwayne Bowe during his tenure.

John Dorsey (2013 - 2017): Drafted key players like Patrick Mahomes during his time as GM.

Brett Veach (2017 - Present): The current General Manager, responsible for building the Super Bowl winning teams of 2020 and 2023.

You might be going in the right direction Lions, but it's okay to not pay ALL of your players in one off-season. I'm sure the players appreciate it, but lets get a resume going before we ask for the VP role.

Looking at the NFC, he's right there with the rest of the QB's.

They obviously love the guy, he seems pretty mentally tough and played well last year.
