Philadelphia has agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first, league sources tell @mortreport and me.
The conditional second-rounder in 2022 becomes a first-rounder if Wentz plays 75 percent of the snaps or 70 percent and the team makes the playoffs. https://t.co/quAYwcz7bd
It's not a terrible deal... he's 28 and aside from 2020, had a pretty good production. Colts aren't really overpaying for him and I think it's worth the gamble.
Let’s make no mistake here either, IF Wentz is going to be successful again, this was his best landing spot of all QB needy teams. If he can’t succeed there, he wouldn’t anywhere.
Early gut instinct is Indy ends up being one of the better teams in the AFC next year. He doesn’t have to be special for it to be the case. Just can’t totally fuck it all up. [Reply]

Yep. It's not a good deal for the colts because the most likely outcome is the worst. He comes in and is just decent, say 14th best qb in the league. So you can't bench him and keep the first next year because he will win some games, but you also aren't winning the super bowl either. You are about to lose all of your cap space that you worked so hard for. And they still have a big question at left tackle and WRs at all, unless the 5 games a year TY hilton plays counts. This is just putting your team in purgatory, just like the chiefs getting smith was. [Reply]
Carson basically went from Harvard to Phoenix Online and now back to Harvard. Anyone that couldn't see he was mailing it in last season is blind. Indy is now our contender in the AFC alongside the Bills. [Reply]
The eagles were fucked. Wentz basically told the Bears and really the rest of the league to kick rocks. He ruined any angle the eagles could play this destroying any value he had as a trade piece. [Reply]
