“Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reports Jimmy Garoppolo can be released without penalty by the Raiders this summer because of his 2022 foot injury.
Garoppolo's deal originally included an $11.25 million signing bonus, but that was converted to part of his base salary after he failed his Raiders physical this spring. Garoppolo can be cut for "any reason" related to his foot, but his $22.5 million salary becomes guaranteed once he "passes a physical exam, is active for at least one regular-season game, and does not suffer re-injury to his left foot." It would certainly seem Garoppolo's physical was most disturbing to the Silver and Black. What was already looking like a questionable signing now has the makings of a potential fiasco.” [Reply]

Good. That Raiders team lacks serious talent. Brady would get killed behind that offensive line. [Reply]

He would have to sell his shares in order to return.
If he somehow sold his shares and suited up, I would not be watching the games. It would be a complete sellout. [Reply]

Selling the shares could be similar to an under the table payment to avoid the salary cap, which the Patriots did with Brady’s TB12 training company. [Reply]

Good grief, man.
Don't even mention stuff like that. I am trying to enjoy my Sunday. :-) [Reply]

He hasn't technically bought anything. They have an agreement, but it hasn't been approved by the other owners yet. Also there was a report yesterday that the league might force Brady to stipulate that he'll stay retired before they'd approve the deal. [Reply]

IMO Spygate eliminates Brady from being the GOAT. Patriots spent 7 friggin years illegally videotaping their opponents and ended up with 3 super bowls during that period. Currently, Brady has 4 legitimate titles and Patrick has 2. [Reply]

He felt it was necessary to accomplish what he wanted to accomplish.
Imagine how pissed he'll be when Pat surpasses all that, making it look easy all the while, without ever having to cheat... [Reply]
