Nzoner's Game Room>Can the next 6 years be close to the first 6 years of the Mahomes era?
RunKC 07:49 PM 06-22-2024
So we know at this point that Andy has been with Mahomes as a starter for 6 years and the results speak for themselves.

The next 6 years will run through Mahomes prime and Andy is signed through that time. Let’s assume a few things:

1. Andy coaches all 6 years
2. Spags coaches all 6 years and retires with Andy at the end of the 2029 season
3. Kelce plays 2 more seasons as planned and then retires
4. Chris Jones plays 3 more seasons
5. The Chiefs lose Dave Merritt in 2025 when his son graduates and heads to college
6. Mahomes does not suffer a significant injury in the next 6 years

What do you think? Can they possibly match the success they had in the first 6 years? Poll incoming

I think a big factor helping us right now is that our division has sucked balls. I think Denver and the raiders will continue to suck. San Diego might compete in a couple years if the coaching is good. We aren’t going to miss the playoffs. We should be the favorites every year. We just need to protect Mahomes.

I am happy with any more super bowls. It has been an unreal run.

I think three more Super Bowls is realistic and we could even hope for more. I think we have solved the WR problem. Let’s hope the defence stays elite after losing Sneed, but there’s always the element of injury. (fingers crossed.) and it will be important that lady luck doesn’t turn against us. I hope we never face what Detroit faced in the championship game against San Francisco last year.

I think we make 4 more SB's in 6 years and win 3, matching the first six.

6 SBs in 12 years.

I hope I live another 10 years........
I can only hope and BRB.......

Nothing is impossible with Patrick Mahomes II at the helm. I am remaining in full homer mode.

But guys, we have never had a team this complete. In the beginning it was a dominant offense with no defense or running game. Then as the defense and running game got better our receivers got worse. This year is our most complete team in the mahomes era
There will be challenges like Kelce and Chris retiring. Neither will be here towards the end of the 6 years.

I am also a big Stroud fan. I think he’s the best QB to come out since Mahomes. He’s better than Burrow and Lamar and will pass Allen this year. He’s on a rookie contract. They will definitely be our biggest threat through this run.

After that we are rolling loaded dice that won't win EVERY time but will hit the mark more often than not.
That seems too easy. There's a thin line between winning and losing. The Bills played the Chiefs tough last year despite them having more significant injuries. If Allen doesn't miss that TD throw on their final drive, it's possible the Chiefs don't make the AFCCG.

Injuries, bad calls, bad bounces, untimely penalties, etc. It's just one game.

Two more SBs would be something everyone here would be thrilled with. That would give the Chiefs 5 SBs in a shorter span than the Patriots and 6 overall for the franchise.

And don't forget the 13 second game or whatever long it was. Super duper thin margins. Yes we came out ahead but that's not exactly something you can rely on year to year.

I’m very confident we’ll have mor than 1 SB appearance and will win 4 of the next 6 SBs.

I would argue we’ve already achieved that in these last five years.

As long as Veach keeps managing the cap and drafting for the long term like he has when some play themselves into 2nd contacts we can't afford I don't see a down period.

Ceiling is greatest dynasty of all time, floor is making the playoffs almost every year.

Floor is the greatest dynasty of all time. Ceiling is Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea and China overthrowing their governments and embracing democracy in exchange for broadcast rights to Chiefs games.

I think 2 rings is very realistic barring injuries. That’s a one every three years average. In a salary cap era what KC is doing is mind blowing. No reason why they can’t continue for during the Reid era.

The margins are thin, but Mahomes is 15-3 in the playoffs so far. Thin margins or not he seems to come out on top by a 5:1 ratio.

Mahomes is now entering his prime, at least mentally. Barring any injuries, I see no reason why he wouldn't reach and surpass even, what he has achieved so far in his career.
You can't question things when it comes to Patrick Lavon Mahomes the 2nd. He is not your casual QB. He is once in a century type of QB. The type of which many generations of the future will speak of and gloat about.

You know what it all comes down to though. If Mahomes is able to stay on the field. He's been extremely lucky so far.
