Nzoner's Game Room>***Official 2022 Royals Season Repository Thread***

For all things Royals in 2022. #3 minor league system according to Baseball America. The Bobby Witt era should begin this year. Will Salvy still be the homerun king? How does the glut of infield players work out? Will the young pitchers take the next step?

Haven’t watched a game since the Chiefs season started. I know I want them to keep losing.

I don't know. It sounds like Sherman is going to keep the front office in tact, some scouts/minor league instructors are going to bare the brunt of it. I think Matheney will stick around and maybe Eldred as well. Hell Picolo blamed the pitchers struggles on the pitchers themselves.

Rutschman on the other hand is already +16 runs in framing. I’m not a big fan of this metric but it’s one data point. MJ doesn’t throw anyone out either. Can’t play OF. 1B is off the table.

Btw Os are 57-43 since Rutschman was called up and made starter. So that whole wins metric matters too
I think once robot umps are implemented Melendez will be close to league avg catcher i hate everything about pitch framing and robot umps would make it cease to exist. Good riddance.

Whoaaa. I agree with BWillie. I'm ready for robo-ump to get true strikes/balls and take the Ump ego out of the game and END this stupid, damn pitch-framing idea. It's a distraction to the more important aspects of catching. And with the bases increasing in size, throwing runners out will need to be the emphasis.

On MJ's future...I kinda' wonder whether they will be making his offseason work in LF roll into a more permanent position change. Luca Tresh might be the better guy to take the dish when Salvy is done. Hopefully, Carter Jensen will be an option as well shortly thereafter.

Brady Singer start today. Royals playing well. Only games we need to win are the ones when Singer starts.

Now show us Ryan O’Hearns OPS.

Because that is literally the guy that they chose to keep on the roster when Olivares returned. DFA O’Hearn or demote Pratto?

Royals front office: ‘Yeah, we think we need to get a longer look at that O’Hearn kid.’ :-)

Fucking idiots.

Yeah it’s a definite benefit to live in Mid-MO because you get both teams.

No. We need to lose out. Every fucking game.

Singer can have great starts and the bullpen can blow his games.

Losing and losing a LOT to end this season is the ONLY thing that will guarantee us getting rid of Matheny and Eldred.

But yeah I agree. No reason to keep the guy. Its a fireable offense at this point.
