Horse tailor hard to find. Horse trailer easy to find. Elway pimping either way.

Report: Broncos offered Von Miller six years, $114.5 million – ProFootballTalk

When the Broncos were at the White House earlier this week, linebacker Von Miller said that there has been a lot of progress toward a long-term contract in his discussions with the team.

According to a report on Wednesday, however, any plans to celebrate an agreement should remain on hold.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Broncos have offered Miller a six-year deal worth up to $114.5 million with $39.8 million guaranteed in the first two years. That per-year average is higher than any 3-4 outside linebacker or 4-3 defensive end currently makes and is a bit more than the total value of the contract Ndamukong Suh signed with the Dolphins last year.

It doesn’t appear to be enough to make Miller, who is set to make $14.1 million this year under the franchise tag, put pen to paper, though.

Schefter reports that there is “no deal in sight” and adds that it will be “very difficult” to get one done before the July 15 deadline for players with franchise tags to sign multi-year deals. Past years have shown that deals that look difficult get easier once the deadline gets closer, something worth keeping in mind in the next few weeks when Miller and the Broncos are concerned.

I'd be shocked if a deal gets done before the deadline.

Report: Broncos have pulled offer to Von Miller

Posted by Michael David Smith on June 8, 2016, 2:37 PM EDT

SANTA CLARA, CA - FEBRUARY 07:

Whatever is going on with the Broncos and free agent outside linebacker Von Miller, it doesn’t sound like a long-term contract extension is getting done any time soon.

Shortly after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Broncos had offered Miller a six-year, $114.5 million deal, Mike Klis of KUSA reported that the Broncos have pulled their offer.

It’s unclear why the Broncos wouldn’t be willing to sign Miller to a six-year, $114.5 million contract today if they were willing to sign him to a six-year, $114.5 million contract yesterday. But if the Broncos have truly pulled their offer and aren’t willing to continue negotiating, that would mean Miller’s options are to sign the one-year, $14.1 million franchise tender, or not to play at all.

Klis reports that the Broncos and Miller agreed on the six-year, $114.5 million part but strongly disagreed on the structure of the deal, particularly the guaranteed money in the first three years.

The Broncos and Miller have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal. If they don’t, he can only play on a one-year deal in 2016.

The Broncos wanted Von to take part in OTA's and upped there offer to get a deal done before the team breaks for the summer. Von's agent probably thought they could get more at the deadline if they turned the deal down.

It's not like Von is hurting for money, so I doubt he's in any hurry to get a deal done, he's gotten a lot of endorsements since the Super Bowl.

Elway tried to low-ball him with 2 years @ $40 million guaranteed. Told you he was a weasel...he still thinks players are going to take the "Manning discount".

Olivier Vernon just received $52 million guaranteed...that should tell you how insulting this offer was.

It's going to take $56-$60 million guaranteed to make it happen...

Elway saw how Miller vanished from games when Ware was out...and this is probably his (Ware) last year in Denver. Will be interesting to see how this shakes out...Players tend to have a down year when they hold out.

Von Miller is planning to attend Broncos' Super Bowl ring ceremony Sunday. Fitting if he got the first ring. #AWKWARD! #9news #9sports

You are clearly well versed in contract negotiations and I would want you to represent me.

Washed up? He missed a handful of games for the first time in his career and Dallas let him go. Of all the issues running rampant in the NFL, I do think Ware is one of the good guys and doubt he's doing anything as you suggest.
