It's also an OL dream draft. There are 10 linemen with Round 1 grades. That means two are likely to drop to the 2nd round. Same with the WRs. Some talent is just going to fall.
If you want the list...
LT Joe Alt
LT Olu Fashanu
LT Troy Fautanu
RT JC Latham
RT Taliese Fuaga
RT Amarius Mims
RT Tyler Guyton
IOL Jackson Powers-Johnson
IOL Graham Barton
LT Jordan Morgan
There's 20 linemen with grades round 3 or higher by most pundits and only about 5 of those are IOL. Most have around 17-18 at WR. It's a really, really good draft if you need tackles. I think teams are going to take advantage of it.
One thing the Chargers absolutely need is an upgrade at RT. Herbert is a really good QB but he needs better protection than Patrick does. You have to address that if you're Harbaugh. I'd prioritize that protection over a weapon. They'll have a good weapon fall. IF they trade down with Minnesota and end up with picks at 11 and 23, they can get both. [Reply]
Alex Smith and Colin Kaepernick needed help. They weren’t natural throwers and didn’t excel in it Herbert is by far the best pro QB he’d be coaching.
Harbaugh had Andrew Luck at Stanford and he threw the ball 29 times a game. Wouldn’t say it’s a given that Herbert will be a game manager under him [Reply]
