Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Projected Contract 6 year $145 mil
dlphg9 08:17 PM 03-28-2022
So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.

That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL

How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?

I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave.

Also according to Laura Rutledge on ESPN’s NFL Live. Orlando Brown Jr. is suppose to join them live on the show, in person tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/9PU5MmYGaq

That could be awkward.

Yeah but they both had diabetics in their family man. That's the unbreakable bond. You can't get that kind of close kinship with some guy that just wants to make you a ton of money.

:-) Might have to watch that live.

Sounds like he is kind of getting the Lamar treatment

"The league views him as a RT that wants to get paid LT money"

In a make believe world where salaries, age, and every other off-the-field thing were exactly equal, I'd still absolutely rather have Taylor as our starting LT next season than OBJ.

Never really liked or disliked OBJ. Appreciated his effort in the playoffs, but not a bit sorry to call him an ex-Chief. I already like Taylor's film better than anything I ever saw out of OBJ.

One door closes, another opens. Good job Brett Veach.

EB, Lamar, OBJ

There's a disconnect between what talking heads think about some guys and what people who know think about them.

Lamar and OBJ show why players need good/experienced agents.

The guy could have signed a long term deal with the best franchise going in football right now to play LT, for Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes.

Wanted a bigger contract and his new agent didn't know the league views him as a RT not a LT?

I mean, that's managerial malfeasance

He has nobody to blame but himself. He hired a guy with no experience.

Yeah.... He may very well get his $$$ from a team like the Bears that literally has to spend to be cap floor compliant, but that agent has already shown he is completely incompetent at what he does. Seems more like a guy Orlando found that would just nod yes like a bobblehead to any of his demands rather than an experienced agent with relationships that could've set the proper expectations.

Yet, yet all of us on here who said he wasn't very good at LT were told he was a top 10 if not top 5 LT. :-)
