Tyrann Mathieu says the comments yesterday on social media were "a mistake." He adds, "I haven't had the season I wanted to have. Frustration tends to build up."

I guess that I am the very definition of a "Toxic" fan Honey Badger is calling out. I paid good money, sat through all conditions cheering the entire time, but since the team is playing poorly- it is my fault.
Sorry, I really let the team down this year!
The last 3 games I went to were the 2018 AFC championship game, 2019 Division round and 2019 AFC championship game. I spent a ton of money on those tickets. I'm not going to attack them on Twitter, but if I want to piss and moan about how they're playing like shit on CP I've earned that right.
I've suffered through an abysmal franchise for most of the time I've followed this team. [Reply]

He spent a few minutes talking about his appreciation for the fans and community. He didn't have to address anyone or could have just sent a quote. Him taking bullets from the press is good enough for me. I think he's talked his way out of an extension, but I trust in hunt and Reid to get his head straight the rest of the way. Hope this lights a fire in the guy to care again. I don't want to dislike the guy. Of course I'd like to see him turn himself around. [Reply]

Nope. I hope he contributes to a Chiefs turnaround this year, but other than that I'm done with this guy. Honey Badger was loved by this fanbase, but chose to shit all over them on social media and give us national headlines about how toxic we are. I'm sure his agent and others talked him down but you can't take that shit back.
Play out your contract and get the fuck out of town you spoiled, entitled asshole. [Reply]

I am with you on this with a caveat. This is not the first time he has had to walk back his social media comments. This needs to be the last time he demeans this fanbase.

Some leader. Get his narcissistic ass out. Get someone in here who will look in the mirror and try and get better every day.
I don't disagree with any of that, I'm just stating I'm good with and ready to move on from the toxic fans comment that he admitted was a mistake on his part.
I'm far from good with the leadership he's demonstrated up until now and the entire performance on defense. Hopefully an acknowledgement of fucking up is a step in the right direction. I have zero expectations it will change but it is what it is at this very moment. They can either sink or swim. He can either elevate those around him or GTFO. [Reply]

But to be fair, some chiefs fans are acting very patriots like.
The team is playing like complete fucking shit. There's a difference between playing like shit with Alex Smith and a 1-4 playoff record and playing like shit when being one of the last 4 teams 3 years in a row while winning 1 SB and going to 2. There is an expectation with this team that surpasses any expectation of a Chiefs team in half a century. When the players start pointing the finger at the fans because they suck is when they can be shown the door. [Reply]
