Why wouldn't he be able to? He's 295 and knows how to easily shed blockers. Yes, in the past he's had a tendency to play a little undisciplined in trying to make the big play, but we've really put pressure on him to make the right choices in the past because our LBs have been so fucking shitty. Don't think rigidly. This isn't your father's NFL. And it's not fucking Madden. People are bean counting the players at each position group and claiming we're deficient.
If Jones does well playing at end, we've got two starters in Reed and Nnadi. We can kick Jones back inside to sub one of them out. We can keep Jones at end and sub in Wharton. And Khalen Saunders is still on the roster, too, and while I'm less optimistic about him than I was last year, if he's your 4th or 5th DT, you've got something special.
That interior is so deep and so flexible and so awesome that I really think Spags is just going to do whatever he can to get great players on the field and keep everybody fresh.
