It’s a single game elimination tournament in which there are 68 teams participating and the preparation time between two games is shorter than any part of the season (excluding conference tournaments).
That doesn’t excuse the best teams losing early, but to act as if it’s the best way to deem a champion (it isn’t, it’s the most exciting, but not the best way to figure out the best team) while also saying it isn’t a crapshoot would be inaccurate. [Reply]
