:-(

I just watched the highlights from that link I posted. Alex Smith looked like GOD with Hill. Ugh. I'm fine with our moving on but JFC it's hard not having that guy in our corner.

In his very first year starting he got 1200 yards and 7 touchdowns with someone whose entire legacy is him checking the ball down. And that was his age 23 season.

You sound like a trolling Jalen Ramsey knocking him for making the Pro Bowl as a KR rather than a WR. Anyone who watched him that year knew how incredible he was in both roles - with freaking Alex Smith throwing to him (or not) - and it's not like the Pro Bowl designation actually means anything whatsoever.

Agreed to most of that other than Alex Smith and deep balls, the Ramsey Trolling was 2019. I’m talking about 16/17 bedsides the original point was McLauren has had dog diarreah for QBs and posted impressive numbers.

And was still his lowest production year in terms of yards and TDs. The point is not to bash Hill but to prove that QB CAN make all the difference for a talented player such as McLauren

Yeah it was his 2nd year in the NFL. The goal is to get better from your early years so yeah...he got better.

Agreed! I think you know what I'm driving at but being stubborn about it - which is okay - I think you are a cool poster - even if a tad misguided :-)

McLauren posted "Tyreek like" numbers in his first three years on a dumpster fire team with Mark Vlassic or Steve Bono at best as his QB's. I'm not saying he will replace Tyreek but he will sure get us close.

The original post was a reply to DJ that McLauren wasn't worth it. I disagreed with a comparison between Hills first couple of years under Smith vs McLaurens first few years under Smith or less capable QB's

Make sense?

Mclauren is a pipe dream. Why in the world would Washington trade him? It makes no sense. You don't trade good, young, cost controlled talent. You trade guys you can't or won't pay, or you trade guys that have worn out their welcome, or because you want to get younger at a position.

Washington is probably going to end up with Garrappolo or Mayfield or something. They're gonna need someone to throw the ball to.

Oh I don't disagree, but if they did he would be worth the trade - a known commodity. Honestly, why is a good question, they are a really bad team with 6 total draft picks in this draft so there is one reason.

Second reason:

You trade those guys because you are years away from being worth a damn and they bring back the highest value.

You don't trade for Wentz and then trade McLaurin. That's the major inconsistency in arguing for dealing the guy.

I would say even with Wentz at QB they are still years away but that's just my take. Trade, get the picks and get your QB in the draft next year.

Totally agree. Wentz sucks. But you can't justify trading some real draft capital for him and then trading away your best offensive playmaker only weeks later.

I think they see a super weak NFC East and feel compelled to try and compete after years of ineptitude. It's probably the right thing to do for the fanbase.
