Frank Clark: "I've been dealing with a lot of stuff. You've got to put a lot stuff to the side. Those things are just as important as football, taking care of my family & my job. I feel like I'm in a way better place than before. It's a focus level you have to have."

At his worst Justin Houston was leading the best pass rushing group in the NFL. And berry when he did play showed more passion than anyone else. Dude came back 1 game and had to show people where to line up :-)
These guys are nothing like Berry and Houston. [Reply]

Yeah. The roster bonus for 2022 guaranteed in March of 2021.
It's been a favorite trick of agents recently to have their vesting guarantees vest the season prior so that guys REALLY have to suck to get cut a season before the guarantee would've kicked in. Veach did it with Jones, Hitchens and Clark.
It's why you see references to 'effective guarantees' more than 'guaranteed money' these days. Because while Jones 2022 roster bonus wasn't technically guaranteed at signing, it would've been nearly impossible for him to have been so bad in 2020 that he'd get cut prior to the 2022 roster bonus becoming guaranteed in 2021. "You can only be that bad defensively over a period of time...it erodes the trust within the team. You mentioned Tyrann Mathieu getting upset when the coverages get blown. That stuff pisses people off."
"What's happening with Frank Clark and Chris Jones, that stuff drives people crazy because they're getting paid."
"After they lost to Buffalo, people were saying there's not enough people on the team who get upset over losses. There's some guys who can't sleep, and there's some who go right to the club."
"That's a splintering as well. You can't win a championship if you have a horrible unit on your team."
