2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

My bad then, thought I saw that on Twitter but I couldn't find the Tweet again. [Reply]
Honeycutt made an early case as the favorite for the top player in the 2024 draft class with a sensational freshman season in Chapel Hill. He homered 25 times, stole 29 bags and put on a defensive clinic in center field of Boshamer Stadium. He remains near the top of the class thanks to his standout toolset, but he has dealt with injuries and has yet to hit over .300 in a single season. Honeycutt did cut his strikeout rate from 29.7% to 20.4% in 2023, which was a significant question mark entering the year. Opinions will vary significantly on Honeycutt’s hit tool, so he’ll need to improve his swing, his approach and produce a high batting average to ease skeptics next spring. [Reply]
First trade at Winter Meetings and its Yankees/Red Sox
BREAKING: The New York Yankees are acquiring outfielder Alex Verdugo in a trade with the Boston Red Sox for right-handeres Richard Fitts, Greg Weissert and Nicholas Judice, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.
Literally fucking hate the god damn lottery. It makes no fucking sense in a league that plays 162 games. I hate pretty much everything about the MLB. [Reply]
